Aloha!
I had success at the annual Kona Coffee Fest art exhibit, winning first place in the judged division for my painting;" Flower to Fruit"
Many events surrounded this celebration, steeped in tradition here on the Big Island. In this the forty-first annual event, activities include a coffee picking contest, cupping contests, a barista jam, a parade, and much more.
Another exciting event I participated in, and helped coordinate, was the Kona Plein Air Paint Out. Sponsored by Plein Air Painters of Hawaii, approximately 20 painters from all over the islands and the mainland, set up in six locations to capture the unique scenes of the west side of the Big Island. Lavender Moon Gallery generously sponsored an artist reception and show of members work for one evening, where we gathered along with the public to view pieces hot off the easels of the painters. Ideas were shared and friendships were formed and renewed as this wonderfult group of people got together to share this great experience!! |
